Several Fires Break Out Tuesday, 35 Acres Burn Near Keswick

A wind whipped fire near Keswick charred 35 acres and forced evacuation of homes before it stopped spreading Tuesday. The Mountain Fire was 50 percent contained as of Tuesday night. It broke out about 12:15PM on the side of Iron Mountain Road near Keswick Dam. Iron Mountain Road was closed between the dam and Highway 299. No buildings were destroyed, but some fence lines did burn.

The fire was one of several Tuesday. A fire in Shingletown, near Grace Lake burned about an acre. Another fire off Interstate Five near the Factory Outlets in Anderson burned a spot before being contained.
