Teens Arrested After Trashing High School

Two 16-year-old juveniles have been arrested, accused of smashing car windows and breaking into Shasta High School. They apparently were only interested in causing damage to the school and its property including the River Bowl Trophy. Police were called to the school just after Midnight after an alarm was triggered. Upon arrival they determined that the main door to the office had been smashed with a rock and forced open. The pair apparently used a rock to gain entry to the school as well. The juveniles were found inside an adjacent building after officers witnessed fire extinguishers being thrown out of some large second story windows.  Both were reported to be heavily intoxicated and became violent and threatening when taken to a hospital for treatment.  Damage to the high school is estimated to be over $5000, and $1000 to the vehicles. Both suspects have been booked into the Shasta County Jail.
