Crash Claims Man’s Life In Tehama County

A 44-year-old Rancho Tehama man was killed after crashing his sports car into a Oak tree, according to the CHP. On Friday evening officers were called to Rancho Tehama Road near Alpine Drive. They say that Michael Katauskas was driving his Nissan 350z at a high rate of speed, when he lost control. the car left the roadway and went down a small embankment before it crashed into a tree. The car overturned in the driveway of a residence. Several nearby residents responded to the crash and attempted to help Katauskas, but he succumbed to his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and the CHP has not ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor.
