A man is accused of threatening his wife with a gun during a fight in the Mountain Gate area. At around 9:20PM Wednesday night Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to Early Dawn Lane off of Wonderland Boulevard. A woman was reporting that her husband, 59-year-old Dennis Mitchell, had assaulted her and armed himself with a shotgun. She was apparently able to lock him out of the home as she called for help. Deputies found Mitchell unarmed but later located a gun and ammunition, both of which he’s forbidden from possessing due to a prior felony conviction. He was booked into jail for charges including felony domestic violence.
