Someone tried to rob a Red Bluff hotel a little after Midnight Saturday morning, but there was nothing to rob. A man walked into the Hampton Inn and Suites on Adobe Road, set a backpack on the counter, then pulled a handgun and pointed it at the night clerk, demanding money. The clerk said she had no money and the man demanded she give him something but a moment later he walked away eastbound through the parking lot. He was a heavyset white man in his 40’s about 6-feet-tall and 250 pounds.
