A Redding Radio fundraiser to help the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office with the cost of rifle proof protection vests was a resounding success. Don Burton and Heather Ryan, the morning show hosts on our sister station K-Shasta 104.3, held a 2 day “Campout for Cops” beneath the giant American flag on North Bechelli Lane as they attempted to raise donations totaling 5,000 Dollars. Don and Heather were supported by Sheriff Tom Bosenko, “Back the Blue”, the Enterprise Lions Club, KQMS and the other stations of Redding Radio. The total collected in the last two days is around 20,000 Dollars, more than enough to cover the cost of the vests. Some of the money can be used for bullet deflecting helmets for the Redding Police Department.
