Murder Trial Set To Begin For 2015 Killing

A trial is about to begin for a 63-year-old man accused of killing a relative and dumping his body in French Gulch. The body of 33-year-old Timothy Arron Mitchell was discovered in May of last year in an old shallow mining pit off of Cline Gulch Road about a mile and a half from Trinity Mountain Road. A post mortem exam showed that Mitchell had been shot. He was identified through fingerprints. An investigation into Mitchell’s background showed he had lived in Sacramento and in Washington state. He had arrived in Redding April 24th and stayed with Ralf Reuschel and his wife at the Premier RV Resort on North Boulder Drive. Sheriff’s office investigators say that on the early morning of April 29th Reuschel and Mitchell had a dispute at the RV park that ended with Mitchell dead of a gunshot. His body was apparently kept in the RV for several days before Reuschel hauled him out to French Gulch to dump him. Motions and jury selection will begin Next week, with evidence presented starting the following Tuesday.
