The generosity of Northern California has again far exceeded expectation with another outstanding Giving Tuesday. Just like last year, the Shasta Regional Community Foundation set up a website, northstategives.org , where credit card donations to a wide variety of non-profit organizations could be made during a 12 hour blitz. Last year’s goal of $150,000 was reached by 12:30 that day, and the total was more than $329,000, so this year sights were set a bit loftier, with a goal of $500,000. That goal was reached by 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and the total at the end of the day was $758,101. The Good News Rescue Mission was the biggest beneficiary, bringing in more than $60,000.
