Bosenko Holds Final Conference On Papini Case

Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko says that unless new information is learned, his department has said all it’s going to say about the Papini case. More than a dozen news agencies were represented at a press conference held Wednesday afternoon outside the sheriff’s office. 34-year-old Sherri Papini was gone for 3 weeks after vanishing November 2nd while jogging near her Sunrise Drive home. She was released by her captors very early Thanksgiving morning near Interstate 5 in Yolo County, badly beaten, emaciated and traumatized.  Bosenko said Sherri has been cooperative and courageous as she has had to relive her traumatic ordeal during intensive interviews over the past several days. Investigators have been trying to jog her memory for a better description of her captors, which are described as two Hispanic females. One of them has thick eyebrows and straight black hair with gray streaks. The other suspect, the younger of the two, has long curly hair, pierced ears, thin eyebrows and a thick Spanish accent. The descriptions remain vague because for much of her captivity Sherri was blindfolded or the suspects covered their faces. Sheriff Bosenko says some evidence recovered in Yolo County is still being examined, but he would not specify the nature of the items. Bosenko says he had no prior knowledge that Sherri’s husband Keith was going to reveal the details he revealed to Good Morning America Tuesday morning, but the sheriff did confirm that it was all true. He would not disclose what message had been branded onto Sherri’s body. Secret Witness is still offering a $10,000 reward for anonymous tips about the suspects at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com.
