Large Reward Offered For Info On Burney Attack

A reward has been increased in hopes of catching an attacker who set a Burney gas station attendant on fire, killing him. At around 7 O’clock last Wednesday night, someone walked into the Rocky Ledge Shell Station in Johnson Park and started spraying some type of flammable liquid at 54-year-old David Wicks and around the store. Surveillance footage shows Wicks being doused with the liquid and as the suspect began to leave the store Wicks is seen emerging from behind a counter area. The suspect is then seen igniting the fluid before fleeing on a black bicycle. The fire engulfed the store and wicks was severely burned. He died soon afterward. The bicycle was found a few blocks away. Wick’s employer, co-workers and friends have no idea why anybody would want to hurt him. The suspect was wearing yellow rain gear and had their face concealed. A Secret Witness reward of $10,000 has been boosted to $15,000 by private sources. Anonymous tips can be provided to 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com.
