Fire destroyed a house east of Cottonwood Wednesday night. At 10:45PM Cottonwood Fire Protection District was called to an 800 square foot house on Coleman Fish Hatchery Road, just off of Gover Road. When firefighters arrived they could see flames shooting out of the roof. The house was a complete loss, with damage estimated at $100,000. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. A man lived in the house with 3 children, and he apparently carried at least 2 of them out of the burning house himself as everybody made it out safely. The man suffered some smoke inhalation and a burn to his ear.
