A resident at the northern edge of Shasta County was arrested after allegedly blasting a shotgun inside his home. 43-year-old Mike Hernandez was taken into custody late Tuesday morning at a house on Cragview Drive at the south end of Dunsmuir. Multiple CHP Officers responded to the report and used a P.A. to order Hernandez out of the house. He had allegedly fired a 12-gauge shotgun through his bedroom door from the inside, though it’s not clear why. Apparently nobody was hurt, but two housemates were in their own bedrooms when the gun was fired. Hernandez is on felony probation in Fresno county and had an active arrest warrant. He also was violating his probation by living in Shasta County. Deputies who searched his room say they found two sawed-off 12-gauge shotguns and various ammunition.
