Releases From Shasta Dam To Increase Substantially

Releases from Shasta Dam will nearly triple overnight Saturday, according to the Bureau of Reclamation. The releases are expected to increase from about 5000 cubic feet per second to about 14000 CFS at around 10PM Saturday night. The increased releases are due to heavy rain forecast for this weekend. The releases will fluctuate between 8000 CFS and 15000 CFS until further notice. Those downstream will likely see localized flooding over the next few days.
