RV Park Residents Told To Evacuate As River Level Rises

A Redding RV park has told residents to evacuate as the water level rises on the Sacramento River. Residents of the Marina RV Park on the banks of the river off of Park Marina Drive are being told to leave their homes as the river is expected to flood sometime Wednesday night. The Bureau of Reclamation will be increasing releases from Keswick Dam to about 36,000 cubic feet per second by about 3AM Thursday morning. Early Wednesday morning river releases from Keswick were increased to 14,000 CFS. Residents are being told to evacuate and its unclear when they will be allowed back home.  Lake Shasta is currently about 30 feet from the crest of the dam.   Flood warnings are following the swollen Sacramento River southward. In Tehama County the Woodson Bridge and the Tehama Bridge are both at flood stage and both are closed as tributaries continue to bring the river level higher. The level may even crest the Red Bluff Diversion Dam. Further to the south, overflows are expected to continue at Moulton, Colusa and Tisdale Weirs.
