Woman Injured In Head-On Crash On Highway 44

A 70-year-old Shingletown woman suffered major injuries in a crash in the heavy rain Wednesday afternoon. Just before 3 O’clock Shirley Bosteder was driving eastbound on Highway 44 just west of Dersch Road in a Toyota Corolla when she was struck head-on by a Honda Accord driven by 55-year-old Curtis Holtan. He had apparently lost control on the slick asphalt and crossed over the center line directly into the path of Bosteder’s car. She’s listed in fair condition Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital. Holtan had minor injuries.
