Siskiyou Runaway Found In Glenn County

A teenage runaway has been found safe 125 miles south of her Dunsmuir home, according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office. Last week we reported the disappearance of 15-year-old Victoria Lara, who left home voluntarily but was considered “endangered”. A possible sighting in Chico prompted a detective to look there for her on Saturday. Meanwhile, the girl had been detained by Orland Police for unspecified crimes after a citizen recognized her from local media reports. She reportedly refused to tell officers her true name but she matched the description of the missing girl. After nine days and against the odds, the teen’s mother was told Saturday that her daughter was safe. The girl’s care is being coordinated by Tehama and Siskiyou County child welfare agencies.
