Teen Extinguishes Woodstove Fire

A teenager was injured but managed to extinguish a fire in his house Tuesday afternoon. Just after 5 O’clock the 17-year-old was alone at his Edgewood Drive home when the fire spilled out of the woodstove, spreading to a sofa and then to the window drapes. The teen used a blanket to knock the flames down and then brought the garden hose in from the front yard to douse the remaining fire threat. The boy suffered a minor burn injury to his hand.
