Man Who Purchased Stolen Vehicle Sentenced

Some bargains are just too good to be true. Such was the case with a car purchased by 20-year-old Terrin Travis Bettega. He was driving the car on Antelope Boulevard in Red Bluff when he was pulled over by Red Bluff Police Officers who recognized the car as one that was reported stolen that morning. The victim had parked it in front of his home the previous night and it was gone in the morning. Bettega told the officers that he had bought the car for $150. When met with skepticism, he admitted that he had an idea the car may have been stolen. He’s been sentenced to 9 months in Tehama County Jail, 80 hours community service, 5 years formal probation, and he must pay restitution to the owner of the car.
