The Redding Police Department is not calling people on the phone to ask for donations to hire more police officers. It’s a scam and such calls should be ignored. People who have received the calls say they’re asked for credit card numbers or bank account information. Such things should never be given over the phone without being absolutely certain of the caller’s trustworthiness.
