A teenage driver and his passenger fought off an attempted carjacker Wednesday afternoon, according to Redding Police. At 10 to 3 the 19-year-old victim reported that he was in an Athens Avenue parking lot when he was confronted by a man he didn’t know. The man pulled the driver out of the car and assaulted him, then tried to take the car but the 19-year-old and the passenger got the man out of the drivers seat and continued to fight with him until he ran away towards Cypress Avenue. Officers quickly started searching the area and found a man fitting the description with a group of homeless people under the Cypress Bridge. 27-year-old Justin Snow was identified by the victim and booked into jail.
