A Shingletown man has been stabbed to death, allegedly by his own grandson. At 2 O’clock Wednesday afternoon, Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Westward Ho Road in the Lake McCumber area. They found Joseph Maddox Dead. His wife Judith Maddox was suffering from an injury to her head that was bleeding badly and she was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital, where she’s in stable condition. Another person at the house was 19-year-old Skylar Poland, who’s the grandson of Joseph and Judith. He was questioned by detectives and then booked into jail for murder and attempted murder. The sheriff’s major crimes unit would like to hear from anyone who may have helpful information.
