A Union Pacific freight train derailed near Castella Tuesday. It happened at around 11:30AM at a bridge north of Sims Road. Ten flatbeds and boxcars derailed. The cars were all empty and there was nothing to spill. It’s not clear how much railroad traffic was delayed by the mess. Union Pacific is investigating the cause.
