Fire season is on its way, according to Cal-Fire officials, who will ban all pile burning below an elevation of one thousand feet starting on Monday. For property owners above a thousand feet, a permit will be required by Cal-Fire. City of Redding burn permits will no longer be valid, and a burn ban is also going into effect for the cities of Shasta Lake and Anderson.
