An area of Downtown Redding is one of 14 areas selected statewide as a California Cultural District. Receiving such a certification will provide marketing support from state tourism partners and allow the Redding Cultural District to be included in tourism materials, including a major presence on the tourism site visitcalifornia.com. The designated area includes the Downtown Promenade and surrounding area, Turtle Bay and the Rodeo Grounds, Lake Redding and Caldwell Parks and the Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The final decision was made by the California Arts Council and announced Monday.
