Stolen Car Leads To Arrest At Win River Casino

A note to thieves: the most inconspicuous place for a wanted man to go in a stolen car is not the casino. Just after 11 O’clock Monday morning Redding Police responded for a burglar alarm on Riverside Drive. The homeowner also called police to say he was out of town but had seen a man inside his house via his video surveillance system. One of the items taken was a Sig Sauer 9 millimeter handgun. The intruder was gone when police arrived, but a neighbor had seen a suspicious vehicle and took a picture. It was a Chevy Cruz that was reported stolen from Trumpet Drive on Sunday, along with a rifle and a shotgun. At around 11:30PM Monday night the car was spotted by Win-River Casino security parked in their parking lot. They called 9-1-1 and reported the car was there and two men who arrived in it were inside the casino. As Redding Police and CHP Officers were on their way, security called back to say the men had returned to the car. Officers got there in time to detain the pair. One was determined to be uninvolved and he was released. The other one was 24-year-old Jaxon Lennon Bryant. Evidence from multiple burglaries was reportedly found in the car. Bryant was booked into jail on several charges.
