Man Accused Of April Shooting Appears In Court

A preliminary hearing was held this week for a man accused in a shooting near Martin Luther King Park on April 22nd. Very early that morning witnesses reported gunshots and arriving officers found 34-year-old Andre Alexander avant slumped over the wheel of a car on Eugenia Avenue. He had been shot multiple times, in his head, neck, and arm, but he was still alive and was transported to a hospital. Two people are believed to have been involved in the ambush shooting. Erik Santiago was arrested in May and on Tuesday was ordered to stand trial for attempted murder. His alleged accomplice is still at large and was on last week’s most wanted list. 23-year-old Mark Anthony Hill is African-American, 5-foot-7 and 230 pounds.
