Crews Gaining Ground On Lassen County Wildfire

BLM crews are starting to get better containment of a massive fire in the sagelands of Eastern Lassen County. The Long Valley Fire started a week ago about 2 miles north of the Town of Doyle and it’s been moving east and southeast toward Pyramid Lake since then. The latest estimate is nearly 84,000 acres with 40% containment. Crews have been concentrating their efforts on protecting structures in the path of the fire.
