A man from Southern California died after crashing his motorcycle in a remote area of Siskiyou County. The name is withheld until family is notified, but the CHP says he was a 65-year-old man from El Cajon. Wednesday afternoon he was riding his 2012 Kawasaki southbound on Highway 3 a little north of the Town of Callahan. He was doing about 60 miles an hour on a sweeping left turn and allowed the motorcycle to drift onto the gravel shoulder. The bike lost traction and slid sideways and the rider was thrown clear. Although he was wearing a helmet he suffered severe head trauma and died at the scene.
