Man Arrested After Lengthy Chase To Whitmore

Anderson Police have chased down a man who they’re calling a “serial thief”. Sunday afternoon 28-year-old Craig Steven Ferguson was driving a Ford F-250 pickup that apparently had been stolen but not yet reported. He had four outstanding warrants and was wanted for questioning in the theft of two commercial panel trucks from an Anderson fence company. When an APD Officer tried to pull him over in South Anderson Ferguson fled at high speed and led a chase that ended 40 minutes later in Whitmore. He drove the heavy-duty pickup at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour and was only stopped when a deputy laid a spike strip across East Fern Road in Whitmore. A deputy was about to let his K-9 have a taste of Ferguson and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Kristin Wise, but they surrendered as soon as they saw the dog. Wise had just been arrested on Thursday with burglary tools, a 9mm handgun, mask and gloves, as well as a different. Ford F-250 that Ferguson had allegedly stolen out of the impound yard  they also had a dog with them that had been stolen from an animal shelter. Police say wise had tried to rob an Anderson tire shop. She and Ferguson both went to jail.
