K9 Helps Deputies Uncover A Half Pound Of Meth

A Red Bluff man was caught in the City of Shasta Lake with a lot of drugs and money, according to the sheriff’s office. Just after 10PM Saturday night a deputy stopped a green Ford pickup for unspecified vehicle code violations. It was then discovered that the driver, 30-year-old Gustavo Montano, had an active felony warrant and a suspended driver’s license.  The deputy walked Hondo the K-9 around the pickup for a sniff and he signaled the presence of drugs. A search reportedly revealed a half pound of Methamphetamine. The sheriff’s office also seized more than $3000 that was presumed to be drug money. Montano was booked into jail on his warrant and several new charges.
