Teens On Floaties Rescued From River

Three young people tried to conquer the mighty Sacramento River Sunday on floaties that were barely sturdy enough for a swimming pool. Boating deputies were called at around 5 O’clock to a spot north of the Sundial Bridge. The three teenagers with no life vests had gotten swept into a tree that was hanging over and in the water. One of them made it to shore, another stayed in a raft that was stuck in the tree, and the other was in the water hanging onto branches. They were picked up by boating deputies, cold but unharmed. The sheriff’s office wants to remind people that life vests are required on river rafts.
