Woman Sentenced For Stealing Money From Elderly Care Patients

The former manager of a Red Bluff residential care facility has been sentenced for using her position of trust to betray the elderly people in her care. Tehama County District Attorney’s Office investigators learned in April of last year that an elderly couple was being ripped off by the manager of the residential care facility they called home. Over the course of two years Jennifer Lorraine Adams had been using the couple’s credit card and writing herself checks from their bank account. Search warrants were served and in Adams’ home investigators found a credit card belonging to a different resident of the care home, and receipts showing Adams had used it. Adams victimized multiple residents of the care home, stealing a total of more than $200,000. She’s been convicted of 3 counts of felony theft from a dependent adult and aggravated white collar. She was sentenced last week to 8 years in state prison.
