Firefighters Work To Gain Ground On Fires Before Weather Warms Back Up

Wildland fire crews fighting fires in rugged terrain in the north have gotten a slight break with lower temperatures and higher humidity, but that’s expected to change in the later part of the week.

The enormous Modoc Lightning Complex has been declared fully contained at more than 83,000 acres.

The Parker 2 Fire, burning in the Warner Mountains of Modoc County, is about 7900 acres with 80% containment.

4 lightning fires west of Happy Camp are now being managed together as the Eclipse Complex with a total of more than 8500 acres and just 15% containment

7 miles southwest of happy camp, the clear fire has burned over 6700 acres of steep heavily forested terrain, with 77% containment.

The Orleans Complex of 19 fires in the Six Rivers National Forest is more than 5800 acres with overall containment of 35%.

The 3 fires of the Ruth Complex that started last Wednesday south of Ruth Lake in Trinity County has grown to 4600 acres with 50% containment.
