Fire Crews Battle Fires In The Rugged Forests Around Redding

Fires are virtually out in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and wildland fire crews in Modoc County have nearly surrounded all of their lightning fires, but firefighters continue to battle rugged terrain in the Klamath and Six Rivers National Forests.

The 83,000 acre Modoc Lightning Complex is in mop-up stage and the Parker 2 Fire in the Warner Mountains of Modoc County is not expected to grow beyond about 7900 acres.

4 lightning fires west of Happy Camp are now being managed together as the Eclipse Complex and they’ve grown overnight to a total of more than 11,000 acres and just 15% containment.

7 miles southwest of Happy Camp, the Clear Fire has burned over 6700 acres of steep heavily forested terrain, with 77% containment.

The Orleans Complex of 19 fires in the Six Rivers National Forest is more than 5800 acres with overall containment of 35%.

The 3 fires of the Ruth Complex that started last Wednesday south of Ruth Lake in Trinity County has grown to 4600 acres with 60% containment.
