Shasta County residents are being urged to limit their outdoor activities due to wildfire smoke drifting into the area. The Shasta County Air Quality Management District says that the elderly, pregnant women, children, and those with respiratory or heart disease should avoid prolonged outdoor exertion. The district continuously monitors air quality at a location in Anderson. As of 2PM Thursday the district reported a reading of 113 AQI. Anything over 100 on the air quality index is in the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” range.
