NPU Continues To Target Heroin Dealers

Redding’s heroin market has been hit hard by the neighborhood police unit. Since June the NPU has been busting dealers and gathering information about their network of distribution. Officers coordinated with Anderson Police to make a stop of 20-year-old Aurmone Keon Harris and his passenger, 20-year-old Kevin Marcuslee Montgomery of Vallejo, who allegedly had a stolen handgun. That led to a search on Boulder Creek Drive, where Aaron Hunt and Crystal Ruesga were both arrested. They had been allegedly dealing heroin independently of each other and officers seized a total of 1.3 ounces of the drug. Another search warrant on Boulder Creek Drive led to another contact with Aurmone Harris and the reported seizure of 6.4 grams of heroin. Rene Harris and Alyce McCoy were also arrested and two stolen handguns were recovered. The pair was on the run from Las Vegas, where they were wanted for attempted murder. That contact led to their alleged supplier, 40-year-old Christopher White the Second. Early Thursday morning a multi-agency sweep was done of the homes of 5 people believed to be upper-level distributors. Officers say Christopher White had over 7 pounds of heroin and almost a pound of cocaine. They also reported seizing over an ounce of methamphetamine and 12 grams of heroin from Fredrick Dennis Jr. They say 52 grams of heroin and 23 grams of meth was seized from Joshua Jones, and they reported also finding heroin on Cearington Wealtherspoon and Crystal Ruesga. In total, the NPU says they’ve seized 3,344 grams of heroin since June.
