Entries Need For Shasta Lake Veterans Day Parade

This will be the 25th year for Shasta County’s most popular Veteran’s Day event, and entries are being accepted. The parade in the City of Shasta Lake will take place a week before Veterans Day, on November 4th. The Grand Marshal will be the man who had been in charge of the parade for years, retired U.S.Army Special Forces Major John Cleckner. A pancake breakfast at the fire hall from 6 to 10AM precedes the parade and a luncheon at the American Legion Hall follows it. The parade itself is very well attended, generally swelling the population of Shasta Lake with enthusiastic and patriotic spectators. Now is the time to sign up for the parade, which is presented by the Shasta Lake Lions Club and charges no entry fee. An entry form may be obtained at shastalakechamber.org.
