“Symphony On The Beach” Planned For Saturday At Whiskeytown

A full symphony orchestra will be heard across the waters of Whiskeytown Lake from Brandy Creek Beach this Saturday as the National Park Service again hosts “Symphony On The Beach”, which last year attracted more than 3,000 people. The Shasta Symphony will perform under the direction of conductor Dr Dwayne Corbin, and featuring vocalist Jennyrebecca Winans. The event begins at 7 O’clock as James Hayward delivers a traditional Wintu blessing. There will be food vendors and kid’s activities and the music begins at 8 O’clock.  Floating luminaries can be purchased and decorated and they’ll be lit up and set afloat after dark. The event is free, although attendees will have to pay the usual park entrance fee.
