Fire crews have halted the forward spread of a fire in the Oak Run area. The Hopper Fire broke out around 11AM near Oak Run Road and Hopper Lane. At 12:30PM Friday, authorities said the fire’s spread had been stopped at around 25 acres and there was no need for evacuations. Redding Firefighters assisted Cal-Fire on the incident. Chief Gerry Gray says that one home was destroyed by the fire. Damage is estimated at around $300,000. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
