Parolee Arrested After Stolen Car Found In Red Bluff

A car stolen from Redding has been recovered in Red Bluff thanks to one of Tehama County’s new automated license plate readers. Red Bluff Police were dispatched Thursday night to where the 2007 Honda Civic was parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot. It was unoccupied so officers staked it out and waited. Eventually the car was approached by 27-year-old Allan Darling, who has a history of car theft, and a 34-year-old Redding woman. When officers closed in on the pair, the woman stayed put but Darling took off running through the parking lot and into the store, where he was captured. Darling is on parole for evading police and had an outstanding felony warrant. The woman was released at the scene. Later on when the car was searched officers reported finding several ounces of methamphetamine in a backpack in the backseat.
