A Shasta County man is accused of having a collection of child pornography. In January Anderson Police were alerted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that child porn was being uploaded to a computer in Anderson. Search warrants were acquired so that data could be retrieved from Internet and telephone providers to identify the correct recipient. The information led to 53-year-old Dennis Smithson and more warrants were used to seize Smithson’s computer. Investigators say the images found appeared to have all been downloaded from the Internet and not produced by Smithson himself. Since the investigation began Smithson has moved from Anderson to Redding. He was arrested Friday and booked into jail on a One Million Dollar warrant.
