The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man who was fatally stabbed in Lakehead last week. 50-year-old Michael Douglas Graves was stabbed at the Shasta Pines RV Park on Solus Campground Road about 2Pm on Friday afternoon. He was taken to Mercy Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. 39-year-old Christopher David Murphey is accused of stabbing graves and he was found later that day near Yreka by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office. At the time deputies reported that he had made statements that he wanted to kill himself and had he had several self inflicted wounds. He was booked into the Shasta County and an arraignment is set for Wednesday afternoon. An autopsy on graves is set for Wednesday.The case remains under investigation and anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s office major crimes unit.
