Parolee Found In Stolen Vehicle At Lake Shasta

A man who’s been booked into Shasta County Jail a half dozen times since February has another couple of arrests to his name. On Saturday 38-year-old Damien Joseph white was picked up on 5 warrants, 4 of them felonies. Because of the rules of Post Release Community Supervision, he could not be held and he was back on the street the same day. Sunday morning a man named William Cramer woke up to discover that a burglar had been inside his West Street home. A number of items were taken, including his car. Later that afternoon Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies found the car at Fisherman’s Point near Shasta Dam. Inside was Damien White and Cramer’s stolen goods. White was taken to the Redding Police Department to be interviewed but while he was in the interrogation room he reportedly tried to escape, causing damage in the process. Police say he eventually admitted to breaking into Cramer’s home and spending much of the night inside as Cramer slept. White was booked into jail on a list of felonies that will allow him to remain in custody.
