The winner of this years Ducky Derby is from out of town. Nearly 35,000 ducks were dropped into the Sacramento River Sunday afternoon near Caldwell Park. Kyle Hatch of Fair Oaks won a 16-sleeper houseboat vacation from Shasta Marina and a $500 gift card for the Shasta Marina Store after one of her 5 ducks was the 1st to reach the finish line.Andy Givens finished 2nd and won a trip to a San Francisco Giants game. Jane Templeton finished in 3rd place and won a white gold diamond pendant with a 1/3 carat total weight. Kathy Llorce’s duck finished 4th and she won a women’s Harley Switchback riding jacket. All of the money raised from the Ducky Derby goes to substance abuse programs and other youth development projects.
