Dad Rescues Young Daughter Who Nearly Drown

A 3-year-old girl nearly drown on Shasta Lake Saturday evening, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies with the boating safety unit were called to the Bridge Bay Marina about 9:20PM after a young child was reported missing from a parked housboat at the dock. He was able to find his daughter and brought her to the surface. Medical staff arrived on scene and the girl was taken to Mercy Hospital and then flown to UC Davis Medical Center. Her current condition is not known. She was not wearing a lifejack, but was not required to, according to the sheriffs office.
