Searchers looking for a Florida man in Siskiyou County discovered human remains near his abandoned car in a remote area of the Klamath National Forest. An off-duty law enforcement officer was hunting with a family member Sunday when they discovered the abandoned SUV with a Florida license plate on a Forest Service road near Cade Mountain. One of the doors was open and inside the officer found a wallet, a cell phone and dried blood. The man associated with the find is 59-year-old Alexander Navarro Rivera. Monday afternoon searchers found human remains near where Rivera’s car was located. Sheriff John Lopey says an autopsy will be done later this week to identify the remains and a cause of death. He says it could take up to two weeks to process the remains, and his office will work with authorities in Florida to determine an identity.
