Siskiyou CHP Officers Recover Stolen Property From Redding

Mount Shasta Area CHP says a Redding man driving a stolen vehicle pushed his luck a little too hard when he smashed windows to steal items from cars in Mount Shasta City. Saturday morning witnesses at the Black Bear Diner gave good descriptions of the suspect and the truck he was driving. A short time later the resident CHP Officer in Dorris heard the dispatch and spotted the truck heading north on Highway 97. The truck was pulled over and it was discovered that the driver, 37-year-old Anthony McIntire, had a suspended license. While speaking with McIntire, officers noticed two backpacks covered in pieces of broken glass that had apparently been taken in the smash-and-grab thefts in Mount Shasta. Further investigation reportedly revealed that the truck had been stolen from a landscape company in Redding and many other items in the vehicle had been stolen from various victims between Redding and Mount Shasta.
