Elementary School Teacher Arrested For Child Molestation

A Trinity County teacher has been arrested for child molestation, which he has allegedly been doing throughout his lengthy career as an educator. David Frederick was taken into custody by Trinity County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday. Ip until Thursday he’s been working as a teacher at the Coffee Creek Elementary School. Frederick was implicated after several of his recent molestation victims in Coffee Creek came forward to tell their stories. That launched an investigation that spanned several California Counties and several other states where Frederick has worked during his 20-plus year career teaching elementary school kids. Many of his former students elsewhere were contacted and interviewed before enough probable cause was established for his arrest. During questioning Thursday, Frederick allegedly admitted that he’s had a number of inappropriate sexual relationships with his students over the years. Detectives are fairly certain that Frederick victimized students who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Josh Ford, anonymously if they wish, at 623-8106.
