Corning Police Arrest Two After Stolen Gun Found During Traffic Stop

Two arrests were made for illegal weapons in Corning early Monday morning. At 2:25AM Corning Police pulled over a car near Woodson City Park. Eventually the officers conducted a search of 20-year-old Nicholas Clemes and his 16-year-old passenger. Clemes allegedly had a concealed fixed blade knife in his vest and a large tire iron that police say was intended as a weapon. The teenager reportedly had a handgun with the serial numbers ground off concealed in his pants. Clemes had a suspended drivers license and the gun had apparently been stolen. Both were arrested.
