Annual Mary Lake Cleanup Day Set For Saturday

Residents of a sprawling West Redding neighborhood will band together for a good fall cleaning. The third annual “Friends Of Mary Lake” fall cleanup and tree planting is this Saturday. The focus this year will be clearing invasive species. A biologist will mark the non-native trees and volunteers will rip them out and replace them with the kind of trees that belong there. There will be free hot dogs, snacks and drinks. Volunteers should wear long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed-toe shoes.  Tools and gloves will be provided if necessary.  The cleanup is Saturday from 8 to Noon.
